JOB TITLE: Animal Care Assistant

PAY RATE: DOE; Cal Savers Retirement plan option

LOCATION: On Site

 

 

OVERVIEW:

Seeking an enthusiastic animal advocate who enjoys working with people and alongside volunteers and is also able to work independently. The ideal candidate will enjoy working daily with the Happy Hen team to clean all coops/barns/pastures on site. Must be able to lift 50 pounds easily and enjoy working outdoors in all types of weather conditions. 

 

HOURS

7:00-8:00 AM until 2:00-4:00 PM (variable), 3-5 days a week

15-30 (negotiable) per week

NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

  • Previous animal care (domestic, farm, wild) experience required

  • Hard work ethic

  • Must be willing and able to work in outdoor setting and be open to learning how to safely and humanely work with farm animals of all sizes, medical conditions, and behavioral temperaments

 

SUPERVISION EXERCISED:

  • Will work alongside and sometimes lead volunteers on site

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

All work performed in outdoor setting and must be comfortable and able to work in all weather conditions.
